less than 1 min read

Located 500 meters from the Ololaimutiek Gate of the Masai Mara, Miti Mingi Eco Camp, which means "Many Trees" in Swahili, was established in 2006 as a shaded retreat beneath an indigenous forest.

The camp is known for its natural setting, where guests wake to birdsong and the sound of wind in the trees.

In March 2021, the property was renovated to update its traditional architecture while maintaining the rustic, no-frills atmosphere valued by budget safari travelers. The camp now operates on 100% renewable energy from solar and hydroelectric sources, sources over 80% of its food locally, and educates guests about the surrounding ecosystems.

The camp offers a simple experience without elevators or credit card facilities. Guests enjoy rain showers under canvas, slippers on private verandas, and evenings by the fire pit.
